Wanda Ruth Wilson
Wanda Ruth Wilson, 83, of Fort Scott, passed away Friday morning, March 28, 2014 at the Guest Home Estates. She was born Jan. 6, 1931 in Walnut, Kan., the daughter of Wayne and Pearl Blanche (Wright) Geiger. She married Riley W. Wilson Aug. 22, 1948 in Walnut, Kan., and he preceded her in death Dec. 31, 1982.
Wanda moved into Hepler in 1983 from the farm northwest of town and then later moved to Fort Scott. She graduated from Hepler High School and was a member of the Hepler Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Humane Society.
Wanda is survived by her son, Donald L. Wilson of Ness City, Kan.; her daughter Brenda Marie Wilson of Fort Scott; a brother, Frank Geiger of Erie, Kan.; two sisters, Maxine Watkins of Kansas City, Mo., and Arlene Wilson of Iola, Kan.; seven grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband Riley, she was preceded in death by her parents, and a son, Riley Gene Wilson.
Rev. Oliver W. Hawk will conduct graveside services 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at the Rosedale Cemetery near Hepler, Kan., under the direction of the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home.
