Harold Dean Koester
Harold Dean Koester, 90, of Fort Scott, passed away Monday afternoon, Feb. 10, 2014 at Mercy Hospital. He was born June 20, 1923 in Hepler, Kan., the son of Henry Oscar and Martha Emma C. (Detjen) Koester. He married Ruth Hoover Dec. 24, 1952 in Wichita, Kan. She survives of the home.
Harold was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Scott, and he was a barber in Nevada, Mo., for 37 years at the Koester Kut & Klip.
In addition to his wife, Harold is also survived by his two daughters, Kara Koester of Fort Scott, and Kristyn Wohler of Shawnee, Kan.; and three grandchildren, Chase Koester, Bryce Koester, and Roslyn Wohler. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Kenneth Koester, a sister, Florence Naff, and a brother, Floyd Koester.
Pastor Steven Sweyko will conduct funeral services 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Scott under the direction of the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery in Fort Scott. Memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church and left in the care of the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home, 15 W.
