Fort Scott High School's senior wrestlers were prefect in their final home duals of the season at the FSHS gymnasium Tuesday night as the five were winners in all 10 of their matches against Columbus and Iola.

The wins came in different ways, of course. Brendon Blackburn, at 285 pounds, pinned both his opponents in what turned out to be his final matches as a Tiger at all. He will be undergoing reconstructive shoulder surgery next week with the hope of being ready for his first season of college football in the fall.

Jacob Durossette, who was voted the No. 1-ranked wrestler in Class 4A by the Kansas Wrestling Coaches Association this week, was completely dominant in two wins. Due to open spots in the opponents' lineups, John Hughes and Jerad Heckman only got to wrestle once and Cole Stewart didn't get to wrestle at all.

Fort Scott also won the duals, beating Columbus 47-21 and Iola 51-24. Columbus beat Iola, 26-22, in the opening dual of the night.

"They all had good matches when they got a chance to wrestle," Fort Scott head coach David Brown said. "It's unfortunate not all of them got two (matches). They knew it was their last opportunity here in this gym and they made the most of it."

Heckman's match against Columbus' Ryan Thomas at 138 pounds --up two weight classes from his nornal weight -- was only the second of that dual. Heckman (21-4) pinned Thomas in 1:39. Iola didn't have anyone at 126, 132 or 138 pounds, so Class 4A's No. 5-ranked wrestler at 126 had to accept a forfeit.

Durossette (15-2) just traded takedowns for escapes with Columbus' Aubrey Hamilton and won 26-10 for a technical fall. He pinned Iola's Travis Rieske in 1:43.

Hughes (17-6) accepted a forfeit from Columbus and pinned Iola's Tavon Blazek in 59 seconds at 170.

Blackburn (12-6) pinned Shad Rudolph of Columbus in 21 seconds and Colton Toney of Iola in 1:37.

Other winners were Harley Cooley against Columbus' Drew Cornwall at 220 pounds with 1:16 to go in the third period and Chance Crawford over Iola's Seth Sanford 1-0 on an escape early in the third period.

The Tigers, 5-2 in duals, will praticipate in the Paola Tournament Saturday.
