PLEASANTON -- Uniontown's boys evened their season record Tuesday night with a 46-40 win over Jayhawk-Linn in the first round of the now-round robin Pleasanton Mid-Season Tournament.

The Eagles (5-5) won without the services of senior Chase Gleason and without a double-digit scorer.

"Losing him is not an easy (thing) by any means, so guys had to make adjustments," Uniontown head coach Jeremy Neville said. "Senior Carter Wood played a very solid game on the inside for us and took a couple of charges."

Skyler Riley and Tyler Johns scored 8 points each for Uniontown, which outscored the Jayhawks 17-12 in the fourth quarter.

"We showed a lot of character toward the end of the game as we were losing most of the fourth quarter and things were not coming easy," Neville said. "Our guys were there and made the big plays in crunch time."

The Eagles will play Humboldt at 7 p.m. Thursday night in the south gym. Humboldt (8-1) was a 76-70 winner over Richmond-Central Heights Tuesday night.
