Additions made to FSHS schedules
Fort Scott High School Athletic Director Larry Fink has announced two additions to FSHS winter sports schedules.
The wrestling team will go to Ottawa on January 28 for an event that begins at 5 p.m. This will at least partly make up for a dual tournament at Ottawa that was canceled due to bad weather on December 21.
Fort Scott's junior varsity basketball teams will play in a tournament at El Dorado Springs, Mo., the week of January 27. This means the JV teams will play four days that week with the tournament scheduled to be played on the 27th, 29th and 30th and home games against Iola on tap for the 31st.
Earlier, Fort Scott's varsity boys and girls' basketball teams agreed to play Riverton on January 28 at Pittsburg State University to put each team back at 20 scheduled games. Tiger boys and girls each lost a game from their schedules when Broken Arrow, Okla. was forced to withdraw from the Willard (Mo.) Four-State Classic in December due to bad weather.
This week, Fort Scott's basketball teams play tonight at Chanute and at home Thursday night against Girard. The varsity wrestling squad will compete at the Basehor-Linwood Tournament this weekend.
