FSHS fills schedule void with Riverton
When Broken Arrow was forced to pull out of the Willard (Mo.) Four State Classic, held the first week of December, both Fort Scott High School varsity basketball teams were left with a void in their schedules that left each with only 19 regular-season games on their schedules. The maximum allowed by the Kansas State High School Activities Association is 20.
Riverton High School was also a game short of having a complete schedule for both of its basketball teams, so FSHS and Riverton have agreed to play each other on January 28.
Riverton will be the home team. But the games won't be played there. The Rams have managed to schedule Pittsburg State University's John Lance Arena for the varsity girls' and boys' hoops doubleheader.
The girls' game will begin at 6 p.m. with the boys to follow at 7:30. Only varsity games will be played that night.
