Shinn's 18 leads Eagles girls by Crest

HUMBOLDT --Emily Shinn scored 18 points here Friday night as Uniontown's girls routed Crest, 64-36, on the final night of the Humboldt Round-Robin Tournament.

Eagle boys lost to Crest, 57-41. Thursday night, Uniontown girls lost to Erie, 54-45, and Eagle boys fell to Erie, 69-56.

Shinn, who hadn't scored the night before, scored 6 field goals and 6 free throws Friday night. DaNisha Robinson added 14 points while hauling down 8 rebounds and Shalina Harper chipped in with 12 points.

Uniontown (2-2) led 12-6 after one and 23-14 at the half. The Eagles added 25 points in the fourth.

Eagle boys (1-3) trailed 21-13 after one Friday night and 35-21 at the half. Joseph Duffey led the way with 13 points.

Crest (1-2) connected on nine 3-point field goals.

"We had another ice-cold night shooting the ball," Eagle head coach Jeremy Neville said. "Our guys are really pressing to make plays. We need to do a better job being patient and passing the ball more effectively.

"This week has been the perfect storm of everything that can go wrong has. We really just need to get back to practice and work some things out."

In Thursday's girls' game, Robinson finished with 13 points and 7 rebounds while Harper added 8 points. Mandie Ridge had 7 rebounds and 5 assists.

Uniontown led 24-21 at the half but was outscored in the fourth, 19-8.

No information was available from Thursday's boys game.

The Eagles play their first home games Tuesday night as St. Paul visits for the first Three Rivers League games of the season. St. Paul girls routed Derby Homeschool and the boys lost to Derby Homeschool Friday night.
