Bonnie Loraine Heaton, age 66, a resident of Fort Scott, died Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013, at the Landmark Hospital in Joplin, Mo. She was born Nov. 7, 1947, in Joplin, Mo., the daughter of Loren Bolden and Dolores Roy Bolden. Bonnie married Richard Heaton on Sept. 10, 1966. They were later divorced. Bonnie had worked several years for Peerless Products and later for Tri-Valley Developmental services. She was a member of the Fort Scott Church of the Nazarene. Bonnie enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and playing cards with her friends at the Highrise Apartments.

Survivors include three children; Charles Heaton, Garland, Kan., Shawn Heaton, Nashville, Tenn., and Angie Heaton, Hiattville, Kan.; and three grandchildren, Kourtney and Alex. Also surviving are her mother, Dolores Bolden, Fort Scott; two brothers, Bill and Larry Bolden, both of Fort Scott; two sisters, Donna Fisher, Moundville, Mo., and Laura Deen, of Georgia; and her former husband, Richard Heaton, Hume, Mo. She was preceded in death by her father, two grandchildren, a sister, Dorothy Radford, a brother, Paul Tyler and her mother-in-law, Edna Heaton.

There was cremation. Pastor Ken Wood and Pastor Tolle Bowman will conduct a memorial service at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, at the Cheney Witt Chapel. Private burial will take place in the Prescott Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Bonnie Heaton Memorial Fund and may be left in care of the Cheney Witt Chapel, 201 S. Main, P. O.
