GARDEN CITY -- Uniontown's golf team finished 10th at the Class 3-2-1A State Tournament at Southwind Country Club here Monday with a score of 462.

The Eagles did not have a medalist but did shoot better than they did in their Regional at Fort Scott last week.

"I was very happy with the way our girls played and held their composure on a very difficult course," Uniontown head coach Jason Tourtillott said. "Obviously, going in, we wanted to get someone into the top 20 to medal and our back nines kept us from that. We were just to inconsistent when it came to putting multiple good shots together on a hole. We might hit a great drive and follow it up with a poor iron shot or vice versa."

Haven Bradbury shot 59 on the front nine and 52 on the back to post Uniontown's best score of 111. Jordan Mason finished with a score of 53-59--112. Torrie Hathaway came in at 54-60--114 and Anna Oberle shot 65-60--462.

Cheney was the team champion with a score of 400 followed by Caney Valley with 407 and Cimarron with 415. Eureka was fourth at 416.

The individual championship ended in a tie as Cheney's Brooklyn Lonker (41-46) and Cimarron's Jessica Ast (44-43) went to a playoff tied with 87s. However, by the second playoff hole, it was too dark to see the ball and the KSHSAA declared co-champions.

Kiah Rash of Syracuse was third at 43-47--90. Kelsey Wyant of Caney Valley took fourth at 46-47--93.

CLASS 4A -- Defending Class 4A champion Timbrelee McNair of Girard settled for third place at the Class 4A State Tournament at Crestwood Country Club in Pittsburg.

Senior Taryn Torgerson of Buhler won the tournament with a 42-36--78 followed by Southeast Kansas League champion Anna Pool of Coffeyville at 37-42--79. McNair finished at 38-43--81. Pool was the leader after the first nine holes. Erica Gartner of Labette County was fifth at 46-40--86.

Topeka Hayden won the team title with a score of 374 followed by Goodland at 388 and Buhler with a 391. Anderson County was the best area team, finishing eighth at 414 followed by Labette County in ninth at 417 and Girard 10th at 426.
