Injuries deplete Eagle roster

Injuries have hampered Uniontown's cross country team this season. The team's only female runner, junior Rachel DeMoss, suffered a season-ending injury about two weeks ago and just three boys remain active.

"The season hasn't been going as well as I would have liked," Eagle head coach Sabrina Wilkinson said. "All my runners have been suffering from minor injuries causing them to not be able to practice as hard as they need to to be prepared for the races."

Thursday at Burlington, Uniontown competed in a meet that served as the championship for three leagues, the Three Rivers League being one of them. Junior Johnathan Wheeler was 37th overall out of 101 runners in the boys' varsity race as he turned in a time of 19:47. That time made him the ninth-place finisher in the Three Rivers League.

Senior Ryan Goldberg, who ran a personal-best time in Pleasanton's meet at Sugar Valley Golf Course near Mound City on October 10, finished in 23:56 and senior Dominik Dowhan turned in a time of 23:59.

Class 2A Regionals will be at Sugar Valley Saturday.
