Clarence William Cooper

Clarence William Cooper, age 82, a former resident of Arma, and more recently of Mulberry, Kan., died early Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013, at the Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg, Kan. He was born Nov. 12, 1930, in Joplin, Mo. He married Ruth Ann Allen and she preceded him in death. He later married Anna Mae Wise on July 5, 1985, at Miami, Okla.. She preceded him in death on Nov. 18, 2010. Clarence had worked for many years for Bruce Marble and Granite Works in Fort Scott, which later became SI Industries. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time outdoors.

Survivors include two sons, Bill Cooper, Mulberry, Kan., and Kelly Cooper, Arma, Kan.; and a daughter, Tonya Cooper, Branson, Mo. Also surviving are several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Arthur Cooper, a daughter, Karen Wilson, a brother and a half-sister.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 18 at the Cheney Witt Chapel. Burial will follow in the Lath Branch Cemetery east of Fort Scott.
