Cynthia Ellis Levine, the sole proprietor of the Levine House Bed and Breakfast, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013 at 9:30 p.m. at Mercy Hospital Fort Scott. She had battled pancreatic cancer for three years.

Cynthia was in good company with her son, Matt, her sister, Susie, and her favorite hair dresser and one of her best friends, Latonyia Hoy, by her side.

Before the Levine House Bed and Breakfast, Cynthia was a top decorator in Dallas, Texas. In her younger years, she was a hair model for Matrix and did numerous modeling shots for several retailers. One of her most fun accomplishments was coaching her son's tenth grade Dallas City League AAU basketball to an undefeated season.

Over the last several months, Cynthia enjoyed the Care to Share/Sharing Angels, all of them, as they stopped by throughout the day and night, caring and sharing, reaching out to her. One of them in particular, Martha Guilfoyle, went the extra mile for her.

Survivors are her son, Matt Levine, of the home; her mother, Peggy Ellis of Fort Scott; two sisters-Susan Shuff and husband, Teddy, Walker, La.; and Angela Stewart and husband, Gary, of Kansas City, Kan.; one brother, Robert Ellis; nieces and nephews-Jackie, Bobby and Dee Ellis, Carla Taylor, Alex Shuff and Greenly Stewart.

She was preceded in death by her father, Bob Ellis.

Cynthia has chosen cremation with a celebration of her life. It will be Monday, Sept. 16 at the Community of Christ Church, 17th and Eddy streets, Fort Scott, Kan., at 11 a.m. Robert and Kathy Clark will officiate. It is a requested to please wear bright colors, as she would like. Lunch will follow at the church, provided by the Care to Share/The Sharing Bucket and served by the Sharing Angels.

Flowers may be delivered to the Levine House Bed and Breakfast, 747 S. National, Fort Scott, and placed on the railing of the porch or delivered to the Community of Christ Church on Monday before the service.
