Dogs to take to the model runway to help pets in need

Man's best friend will be in the spotlight Saturday, May 18 during the Second Annual Strut Your Mutt event at the Fort Scott Community College walking track. The event is a fundraiser aimed at helping homeless and abandoned animals in Bourbon County and the surrounding area.

Proceeds from Strut Your Mutt will benefit Lee's Paws and Claws Animal Shelter, a no-kill shelter south of Fort Scott. Interim director Ann Gilmore-Hoffman said the funds raised will be used toward hiring an executive director for the shelter.
