Coop coordinating volunteers to help elderly, uninsured with storm cleanup

Wednesday, May 1, 2013

Bourbon County Emergency Manager Terri Coop is doing her part to help head a volunteer effort to help elderly, uninsured and underinsured residents who suffered property damage after the April 7 hailstorm.

Coop presented her plans to Bourbon County Commissioners during their regular Monday meeting.

"This kind of came out of the public hall meeting that happened last Wednesday," Coop said. "Afterwards I met with representatives of two faith-based organizations that have contacted me and contacted the city about the possibility of doing volunteer work for our underprivileged or uninsured after the storm."
