The orchestra and the band will perform their spring concert Monday night at 7 in the Ellis Center at Fort Scott Community College. For Toll, it will be his final concert in Fort Scott. He will be leaving to teach orchestra in Manhattan next year.

With the school's band and orchestra and choir concerts coming up soon, all three divisions of the Fort Scott High School music department received a 1, the highest possible rating, at their most recent competition, as part of Kansas State High School Activities Association competition, in Pittsburg.

The choir performed in McCray Hall at Pittsburg State, noted for its acoustics.

Choir Director Aaron Weatherbie was delighted with his group's performance. "It was one of our best," he said.

Making it even more notable, it was also the first 1 rating at the state contest for Weatherbie, who is in his first year at the school.
