JV boys'track dominates Chanute meet

CHANUTE -- Fort Scott High's boys' junior varsiy track led the field by nearly 30 points in winning the team title at Monday's Chanute Invitational.

The Tigers won 5 events and 15 total medals in racking up 103 points. Runner-up Paola finished with 84 points.

Wyatt Stark and Weston Woodring had a 1-2 finish in the 800-meter run. Stark won in 2 minutes, 19.03 seconds while Woodring followed in 2:19.87.

Woodring won two events. He finished the 1,600-meter run in 5:24.10 and claimed high jump by clearing 5 feet, 6 inches.

Seth Marshall won javelin with a mark of 138 feet even. Fort Scott's 4x100-meter relay team of Tyler Endicott, Nick Woods, Brendyn Quinney and Marshall was a winner in 48.31.

Woods took second in discus with an effort of 111' 4". The 4x800 relay with Zach Wheeler, Stark, Kevin Miller Jr. and Cody Russell was second in 10:02.19. Marshall took second in the 100-meter dash in 11.83 while Quinney tied for third in 11.94.

Endicott claimed third in the pole vault by clearing 9 feet even. Montojo Alexter finished fourth in long jump, clearing 17' 10 1/2".

The Tigers' 4x400-meter relay team was made up of Endicott, Marcus Stepps, Russell and Vince Tome. The time was not listed on the results sheet but based on the team score and some subtraction, it appears they finished fourth.

Marshall finished fifth in the 200 meters in 25.80 and Andrew Rogers was sixth in triple jump at 33' 9".

The next meet for the Tiger JV will be at Paola Monday.
