Marvin Winfred Ward
Marvin Winfred Ward, 83, died March 26, 2013, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. He was born May 17, 1929, in Hutchinson to Isaac Winfred and Marjorie Regina Siegle Ward. He graduated from Graber High School in 1947. On February 12, 1950, he married Edna Clare Stanley in Alva, Okla. She died Sept. 26, 2010.
Marvin was involved in Cub and Boy Scouts as a Scout Master, he was a member of Reno County Cattlemen Association, American Quarterhorse Association, Pretty Prairie Saddle Club, where he was rider of the year in 2012, and Kansas Cowboy # 223. He also attended the Young At Hearts services on Thursday at Delos V. Smith Senior Center and also the Northminster Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include; children, Nancy Ward and husband Jim, Las Vegas, Nev.; Steve Ward and wife Lucinda, Hutchinson; David Ward and wife Cindy, Hutchinson; Kathy Ward, Overland Park, Kan.; Beth Howard and husband Dale, Hutchinson, Kan.; Jeanne Julian and husband Mike, Inman, Kan.; sister, Joyce Zerger and husband Ben, South Hutchinson, Kan.; 12 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Leroy Ward and sister, Cathern Smith.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, March 30, 2013, at First Presbyterian Church, 201 E. Sherman, Hutchinson, with Pastor Don Johnson presiding. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. with the family to receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.
