Raymond Earl Allison
Raymond Earl Allison, 82, passed away on Jan. 24, 2013. He was born May 10, 2013 in Fort Scott, Kan., to Raymond Allison and Lena Schubert Allison.
Raymond is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Dolores M. Townsend Allison, Paisley, Fla.; three children, son David Allison, Paisley, Fla.; daughter Deborah (David) Bingham, Dexter, N.Y.; and daughter Peggy Allison, Colorado Springs, Colo.; three great-grandchildren, Riley, Lilly, and Alexis. He is also survived by his sister, Margaret Titus, Fort Scott; brother Clarence Allison, Belle Plaine, Kan.; and preceded in death by four siblings, Chester Allison, Wichita, Kan.; Mary Sharp, Pratt, Kan.; Frank Allison, Fort Scott, Kan., and Thelma Kendrick, Sedro Woolley, Wash.
Raymond served for 33 1/2 years in the Army/National Guard at Fort Drum, N.Y., and was a Korean War veteran. After retirement, he was an avid follower of his local sports teams (both boys and girls) in New York and Florida and received appreciation plaques for his attendance and guidance from the teams at Jefferson Community College in New York, Stetson University in Florida, and Seminole Community College in Florida (the players called him "Coach" and many times he even rode the team bus with players to the out-of-town games. He and his wife enjoyed many years and hundreds of miles traveling across the U.S., visiting National Parks, Monuments, Memorials and other interesting places. Raymond's favorites were the redwood and sequoia trees.
Raymond was a family man first and foremost, and loved his wife and family dearly. We will miss him and love him forever and he will always be in our hearts.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Moffitt Cancer Center, 12902 Magnolia Drive, Tampa, Fla., 33612 in Raymond's name and/or sign up for the Organ Donor Program as they were both very close to his heart.
There will be no service at this time. Burial will be at a later date.
