Editor search underway
Editor Ruth Campbell has resigned her position with the Fort Scott Tribune to take a news management position with the Garden City, Kan., Telegram, a six-day daily newspaper.
Her last day at the newspaper was Feb. 2.
"Ruth did a great job for us," Publisher Floyd Jernigan said. "She was very committed to the community here in Fort Scott, Uniontown and Bourbon County. Her writing and especially her people stories and columns were always well received.
"We will certainly miss her and we wish her well in her new endeavor.
"Relative to our search process, we are committed to finding someone with the same community dedication and commitment to quality journalism who will help us continue in our service to our readers and advertisers."
In the interim, readers are asked to send the information they would normally send to Ruth to Interim Managing Editor and Sports Editor Scott Nuzum at snuzum@fstribune.com and copy the publisher at fjernigan@fstribune.com
Nuzum previously served as Interim Managing Editor from February 2009 to October 2010.
Those who typically work with Laurie Sisk, Jason Silvers, or Loretta George should continue to do so.
