College plans Breakfast with Santa Saturday
Fort Scott Community College will host its annual "Breakfast with Santa" from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Danny and Willa Ellis Family Fine Arts Center on the FSCC campus, 2108 S. Horton.
For $3, children may enjoy a breakfast of pancakes, sausage and eggs, have their picture taken with Santa and receive a gift. There will be Christmas videos and coloring mats, as well as door prizes, a news release said.
The event, which has been held for about 10 years, is one of several community service projects offered by the college and proceeds go to pay for the breakfast. Several people on campus help out with the event, including the President's Ambassadors who assist in various ways such as putting gift bags together and getting kids through the breakfast line.
Coffee will be available and adults may also purchase breakfast.
More than 300 people turned out for last year's event, which was held in the FSCC cafeteria in the Dick Hedges Administration Building. FSCC officials said 236 photos were snapped and 360 total breakfasts were purchased last year.
Sponsors for this breakfast include Pioneer Kiwanis Club, Fort Scott Kiwanis, Sekan, Bob and Barb Eshelbrenner, Big Sugar Lumber, Liberty Savings, City State Bank, Karen Paddock, Ward Kraft, UMB Bank, Shepherd Team Auto, Rotary Club, Citizen's Bank, James Wood, Advanced Dental Care and Sonic.
