Beverly "B. Ann" Coyan, 86, of Fort Scott, died Thursday evening, Nov. 29, 2012, at the Guest Home Estates. She was born Oct. 30, 1926, in Lawrence, Kan., the daughter of Harry Dowden and Eva (Greene) Brown. She married Robert L. "Bob" Coyan Oct. 21, 1947, in Coffeyville.

She attended the Immaculata Women's Catholic High School in Leavenworth, and the University of Kansas. She was a member of Gamma Phi Beta, KU Chapter, member of University of Kansas Women's Club, was a former house mother at the University of Kansas for 12 years, and was a member of the House Mothers' Association at the University of Kansas.

She was an avid bridge player, and enjoyed playing golf, reading, needlepoint and knitting.

She is survived by her children; Craig Coyan and his wife Jane of Destin, Fla., Kay Lancaster and husband Tom of Fort Scott, and Jan Fowler and her husband Robert of Attalla, Ala.; seven grandchildren, Matt Lancaster, Brian Lancaster and his wife Amanda, Sara Lancaster, John Pennington and his wife Jamie, Charlie Pennington, Tanna Pennell and husband Jerry, and Robert Coyan; four great-grandchildren, Emily, Tessa and Wes Lancaster, and Austin Truett; and a niece, Ginny Cory. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Susan Cotton.

The family would like to thank the administration and staff of Guest Home Estates for their excellent care.

Per B. Ann's wishes she was cremated and there will be a visitation only on Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012, from 5:30 until 7 p.m. at the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home.
