GOLDIE EUGENE YOUNG

Goldie Eugene Young, age 67, resident of Arkansas City, Kan., passed away, Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at his home. He was born Oct. 22, 1945, the son of Marion and Lena (Kerr) Young in Mapleton, Kan. He graduated from Fort Scott High School. Goldie was a transit bus driver for the city of Milwaukee, Wis., and a diesel mechanic for many years. He loved working on cars.

Surviving to honor his memory are his children, Joshua Young and wife Joelle, Kelly Banks and husband Glenn, Matthew Young, Shawn Johnson-Young, Timothy Young, Aaron Johnson, Marion Young, and Audra Young; siblings, Teresa Davis and husband Frank, Wayman Young and wife Linda, Floyd Young and wife Edith, Wayde Young and wife Mary, Rodney Young, Junior Young and wife Eloise, Rhonda Warren and husband Ike, and Nellie Sutterfield and husband Terry; 18 grandchildren and four great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, at the Cheney Witt Chapel, 201 S. Main, Fort Scott.
