Veronica Ruth Jones

Veronica Ruth Jones, age 69, resident of Pleasanton, Kan., died Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2012, at Mercy Hospital in Fort Scott, Kan. She was born May 10, 1943, in California.

She married Gary Jones on April 24, 1965. He preceded her in death on May 10, 2009. She enjoyed working puzzles and playing bingo. She also had a large collection of stuffed animals.

Survivors include three sons, Troy Jones and wife Michaela, Shawnee, Kan., Gary Jones and wife Valeria, Garden City, Mo., and Joseph Jones, West Palm Beach, Fla.; one daughter, Janice Jones, Mound City, Kan.; two sisters Donna Craig and Wendy Rippie, both of California; as well as five grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.

Rev. Jared Witt will conduct funeral services at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 19, 2012, at the Cheney Witt Chapel. Burial will follow in the Clarksburg Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time at the Cheney Witt Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the V.F.W. Post No. 1165 and may be left in care of the Cheney Witt Chapel, P.O.
