Nancy Carol Decker
Nancy Carol Decker, age 74, resident of Foster, Mo., died Monday, Oct. 15, 2012, at her home. She was born May 19, 1938, in Parkville, Mo., the daughter of Sam Clark and Nettie Bryan Clark.
She married Lester Hobbs in 1956. He preceded her in death on Nov. 16, 1973. She married John Counterman in 1974. They later divorced in 1985. She married Joseph Decker in 1986.
Nancy worked as a CNA at three different nursing homes in her career. She enjoyed horses, cooking, and also collected carousels. Nancy worked hard all her life and will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her husband Joseph of the home; six sons, Lester Hobbs, Appleton City, Mo., Danny Hobbs and wife Lillie, Clinton, Ark., David Hobbs and wife Tina, Kansas City, Mo., John Counterman and wife Lisa, Foster, Mo., Michael Counterman and wife Cindy, Foster, Mo., and Joseph Decker Jr., Pleasanton, Kan.; three daughters, Nancy Butler, Pleasanton, Kan., Sandi Keating and husband Shawn, Fort Scott, Kan., and Nova Decker, Oskaloosa, Kan.; 33 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren including a special great- granddaughter, Meadow, of the home. Besides her first husband Lester, she was preceded in death by two sons, Ricky Hobbs and Billy Counterman, grandson Brandon Workman, and her parents.
Pastor Larry Hess will conduct funeral services at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, at the Cheney Witt Chapel. Burial will follow in the Salem Cemetery, Foster, Mo.
The family will receive friends from noon until service time at the Cheney Witt Chapel.
