JV golfers win final tourney

GIRARD -- Fort Scott High's junior varsity golf team finished its season by winning the Girard Invitational here Tuesday.

The Tigers defeated Girard in what amounted to a dual, 269-297, as none of the other three schools fielded full team.

Ingrid Diaz finished fifth for the Tigers with a score of 62. Emily Martin and Ellen Harrison tied for sixth at 65. Maddie Barbour finished tied for 11th at 77. Parsons' Marina Shields was the winner with a 51.

While the JV season is over, the varsity plays Monday in the Caney Valley Class 4A Regional Tournament.
