Richard Leo "Dick" Sinn passed from his earthly life on July 6, 2012, in Gainesville, Fla.

Dick was born Sept. 2, 1935, in Fort Scott, Kansas, the third child of George Alfred Sinn and Sophia Muriel (Cordill) Sinn.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, George Donald Sinn and Kenneth Eugene Sinn, and is survived by siblings Delbert Lee Sinn, Carol Jean (Sinn) Carter, and Joyce Ann Sinn.

Dick attended Maple Grove rural grade school and Fort Scott secondary schools. While serving with the United States Air Force in London, England, he married Audrey Jean Lamming Nov. 14, 1959.

Upon their return to the states in 1960, Dick adopted Audrey's son Stephen John and a daughter, Rachelle Jill was born to the union. The couple divorced in 1971.

Dick worked at Western Insurance in Fort Scott for a time during the 1960's, later becoming an over-the-road truck driver. He married Helen Elaine (Jarred) Silver in 1974 at Wilkes-Barre, Pa. They had a son Jason (Melissa) Richard Sinn in addition to Helen's children, Pam and Harry (Carla) Silver. The couple divorced in 1992.

In 1993 Dick moved to Belleview, Fla., where he was employed in security work for many years.

He enjoyed working, playing darts, and spending time with his friends.

Following cremation, the burial will be at 11 a.m., Friday, Oct. 5, 2012, at the Fort Scott National Cemetery under the direction of the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home. Family and friends are asked to meet at the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. then proceed to the cemetery where military honors will be conducted by the Olson-Frary-Burkhart Post 1165 Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Detail.
