Anthony Dale Allen, 38, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 16, 2012, in Houston, Texas, from a long-fought battle with brain cancer. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, at the Waukee United Methodist Church, 650 Ashworth Drive, Waukee, Iowa, with burial at the Waukee Cemetery.

Tony was born on Feb. 17, 1974, in Nevada, Mo., and grew up in Fort Scott, Kan. He graduated with an associate's degree from Fort Scott Community College. After graduating, he worked in the hospitality industry, traveling from Kansas, South Dakota, Colorado, Missouri and ending up in Iowa working for Noble Hospitality and most recently, Heart of America Group. He married Ann Renae Hough on Sept. 4, 1999, and they have lived in Waukee since 2002.

Tony was active in the business community and his church. He was the biggest supporter of his kids in their many activities. He had a love for the Kansas State Wildcats, Kansas City Royals, Dallas Cowboys, Kansas City Chiefs and trying to perfect his golf game.

Tony will be missed by his loving wife, Ann Allen; children, Kailee, Garrett, and Jackson Allen; mother, Vicki Thornhill; dads, Ron (Leah) Lewis, Rick (Teresa) Allen, and Alva Thornhill; grandfather, Kenny Adams; in-laws, Monte and Sandy Hough; siblings, Kenny (Destiny) Allen, Rocky (J.R.) Wheeler, Richie (Erica) Allen, Jason (Alissa) Hough, Audra (Cory) Williams, Jason Lewis, and Amanda (Jesse) Baker, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Garwood; grandmother, Violet Adams; and infant brother, Robert Garwood.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 21, 2012, at the Waukee United Methodist Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Online condolences may be sent to IlesCares.com.
