McCune man hurt in accident

HIATTVILLE -- A McCune man was injured in a one-vehicle accident Monday afternoon on 130th Street.

A Kansas Highway Patrol report said 55-year-old Charles Gary Shanholtzer was southbound on 130th St., driving a 2004 Freightliner gas truck, when he drove off the west side of the roadway, struck a private driveway, re-entered the road and rolled the vehicle into the east ditch.

The accident occurred about 3 p.m. Monday on 130th St., about .1 mile north of Kansas Highway 39 in the city limits of Hiattville.

Shanholtzer, who was wearing a seat belt at the time of the rollover, was taken to Mercy Hospital Fort Scott.

Mercy spokeswoman Tina Rockhold said Shanholtzer was treated and released.
