The Devil's best weapon: Silence

Friday, September 7, 2012

Is silence one of, or the best, weapon the Devil employs in response to Bible truth? He and his "workers" have decided to just leave us alone. In this way, there is no attention brought to truth and against his error. And when you don't have the truth or are in a hard spot they find it better to clam up ... to stop any communication before it begins.

For the next several week, we (15th and Crawford Church of Christ) will be stating several Bible principles and asking the questions: Have you heard? Do you agree? Do you follow? Would you like to know more? We are giving everyone the opportunity to hear and believe (Romans 10:17) and also an opportunity to learn (Acts 8:30-35). If you would like to write in, email any questions, or responses to be answered or published feel free to do so.

Today's principle: Baptism. In Mark 16:15-16, Jesus stated, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature." "He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned."

Have you heard this? Do you agree with Jesus? Have you obeyed? Would you like further study on this subject? Here is just one more passage on the subject from the Apostle Peter. "There is also an anti-type which now saves us -- baptism (not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God, angels and authorities and powers having been made subject to Him." (1 Peter 3:21-22).

The Devil would so hope we never hear, read, or practice these words. Silence is deadly.

Feel free to study, comment, ask questions, suggest a topic, or even stop in for a visit any time.
