MARY ANN CONROY

Mary Ann Conroy, 82, of Fort Scott, passed away early Wednesday morning, Sept. 5, 2012, at Mercy Hospital. She was born July 8, 1930 in Rantoul, Kan., the daughter of Vern A. and Gladys (Kinder) Welton. She married Clarence Richard Conroy Jr. April 25, 1948 in Osawatomie, Kan. He preceded her in death April 15, 1998.

Mary Ann is survived by her son, Michael Richard Conroy and his wife Connie of Fort Scott, Kan.; a brother, Donald Welton of Bella Vista, Ark.; a sister, Judy Redick of Indio, Calif.; three grandsons, and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband Clarence, Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents, and two infant daughters.

The family will share remembrances at graveside 1:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7, 2012, at the Fort Scott National Cemetery, Fort Scott, Kan., under the direction of the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home.
