Uniontown engineer honored with award

John A. George, president and chief engineer of Agricultural Engineering Associates Inc. of Uniontown, was honored with the PEI Professional Engineer of the Year Award on Aug. 1 during awards programs at the American Association of Agricultural and Biological Engineers' Annual International Meeting held at the Anatole Hilton Dallas.

George was honored for his exemplary agricultural engineering consulting practice, his outstanding innovations and improvements to livestock production, waste management and water resource structures; and for his promotion of professional engineering licensure, a news release said.

For nearly 40 years, George's firms have delivered technical services in livestock facility design, permitting and nutrient management on more than 5,000 projects in 40 states and 50 foreign countries, the release said.
