Winging her way into history

Ann Birney of Ride Into History in Admire, Kan., portrays fabled pilot Amelia Earhart in a presentation for the Historic Preservation Association of Bourbon County at the Old Congregational Church Tuesday evening. She was the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean and received the U.S. Distinguished Flying Cross for this feat, references say.
