Local 15's qualify for USSSA nationals

LENEXA -- The Fort Scott Tigers 15-year-old baseball team won the USSSA State Tournament held here July 6-8 and qualified for the USSSA Elite World Series, which will be held in Orlando. Fla., July 29-Aug. 4

The Tigers went undefeated in the tournament and won by run rule in three of their five games. They defeated Kansas Assault in their first game, 6-3. Fort Scott then beat the Olathe Astros twice in a row, 13-3 and 12-3. The Tigers beat the Topeka Regal Athletics 13-5, then downed Kansas Assault again 6-0 in their final game.
