Choir to perform Friday night
The Bethel Community Church choir will perform "God Bless the U.S.A.," a patriotic musical based on Lee Greenwood's song of the same name, at 7 p.m. Friday as part of the Friday Night Concert Series.
"I am really pleased to have the Bethel Community Church choir perform for us," event organizer Ralph Carlson said. "This will be their first performance at the pavilion."
The concerts take place weekly through the summer at the Heritage Park Pavilion at the corner of First and Main streets.
The musical performed by the church choir is woven with many classic and new patriotic songs that celebrate the nation's legacy of deep faith and great freedom. The patriotic musical will honor the country, its servicemen and women, past and present, and the nation's faith in God, information from Carlson said.
A video will accompany the presentation, the information said.
Members of the Bethel youth choir will also perform.
Attendees are reminded to bring lawn chairs as seating is not provided at the event.
The Friday Night Concert Series is sponsored by the Fort Scott Area Chamber of Commerce Downtown Division. The show is free and open to the public.
