Jayhawks take TRL golf title

LINN VALLEY -- Jayhawk-Linn won the Three Rivers League Golf Tournament by 23 strokes here Monday as all six of its players finished in the top 12.

The Jayhawks shot a four-man score of 353 followed by Pleasanton at 376. Uniontown finished with a score of 431.

Jaden Proffitt of Jayhawk-Linn won a playoff over teammate Reece Dawson for the individual crown after each shot 82. Pleasanton's Mason Coffman was fourth with an 89 with teammate Tyler Poole fifth at 90. Wes Leach of Jayhawk-Linn finished sixth at 93 with Uniontown's Seth Sympson shooting a season-best 94 for seventh place.

Jayhawk-Linn's Pat Sutherland finished ninth with a 96, winning a playoff over Pleasanton's Zach Willis.

Trent Vaughn and Austin Earl each shot 97 for the Jayhawks, tying for 11th place.

Matt Bauer shot 101 for Pleasanton with Trey Baker scoring 107 to round out the Blu-Jays' results.

Zach Travis shot 109 for Uniontown followed by Brenden Wood and Chance Hoener each at 114 and Drew George at 122.

All three teams will be in the Pleasanton Invitational on Thursday.
