Uniontown, Pleasanton compete at Crest meet

IOLA, Kan. -- Uniontown and Pleasanton's track teams took part in the Crest Invitational, held at Allen County Community College here Thursday. Pleasanton's team each finished second -- the girls to Hartford, the boys to Waverly. Uniontown's girls finished fifth while the boys came in eighth.

Pleasanton's girls scored 94 points, won three events and claimed 19 medals. Hartford scored 144 1/2 points in winning. Uniontown's girls scored 52 points, winning two events and 10 medals.

Karesa Lewis won two events for Pleasanton. She claimed the 100-meter hurdles in 17.3 seconds and the 300's in 51.10. Pleasanton's girls also won the 4x400-meter relay in 4:35.

Abby Dixon won the discus for Uniontown with a mark of 89 feet, 8 inches. Kelli Wilkinson won the 3,200 meters in 14:24 and was second in the 1,600 in 6:29.

Pleasanton finished second in the 4x100 relay in 55 seconds and the 4x800 in 12:08. Pleasanton's Autumn Secrest was third in the 100 hurdles in 17.95. Dakota McCullough was third in the 200 meters in 30 seconds flat. The Blu-Jays picked up seven third-place medals beginning with Maranda Lowe in the 100-meter dash in 14.32. Brittany Marshall ran the 200 in 30.65, Savannah Reynolds ran the 800 in 2:50.36 and Amanda Parker turned in a time of 6:45 in the 1,600. Fourths in field events went to Taylor Rotherberger in discus at 78' 3" and shot put at 28' 8", and Lowe in long jump at 14' 0 3/4".

Darcy Ellis finished fifth in the 300 hurdles for Pleasanton in 1:00.20. Amanda Parker was fifth in the 800 in 2:56.66. Lacey Sowards cleared six feet in pole vault for fifth place. Finally, Marshall was sixth in the 100 meters in 14.46 and Daisy Malone was sixth in the 200 meters in 31.85.

For Uniontown, DaNisha Robinson finished second in shot put with a mark of 33' 2 1/2". Rachel Henderson was third in the 3,200 in 15:27.37. Abby Dixon finished fourth in javelin at 95' 2" and fifth in shot at 28' 4 1/2". Jana Wilkinson took fifth in the 1,600 in 6:48.43 while Henderson was sixth in 6:51.19. Wilkinson was sixth in the 800 in 2:56.90.

Waverly scored 144 points in winning the boys' half of the meet while Pleasanton followed with 110 and Hartford was third with 85. Uniontown finished with 24 points.

Pleasanton won four events and 17 medals. Event winners were Dylan Ellis in the 110-meter hurdles in 16.62, Baker Inman in the discus at 140' 4 1/4" and shot put at 44' 4 1/2", and Preston Coffman in pole vault, clearing 13 feet.

Runners-up for the Jays were Coffman in the 100 meters in 11.80 and the 300 hurdles in 42.78, Jacob Miller in the 200 meters in 24.44 and the 4x100 relay team in 47.19. Five thirds were picked up by Ellis in the 300 hurdles in 43.11, Coffman in pole vault at 11' 5", Miller in long jump at 17' 11 1/2", Marcus Lewis in javelin at 144' 5" and the 4x400 relay in 3:52.26.

Coley Carter took fourth in shot with a heave of 39' 9 1/2". Brandon Hensley was fifth in the 3,200 in 12:30.15 . Lewis was sixth in the 100 in 12.57 and Coffman took sixth in javelin at 134' 9".

Uniontown won six medals. Montana Beerbower finished second in the 3,200 in 12:23.60. Dakota Henderson was fourth in the 3,200 in 12:21.29. Carter Wood took fourth in high jump, clearing 5' 6". Uniontown's 4x800 relay team took fourth in 10:41.60. Skyler Riley finished fifth in the 110 hurdles in 19.76 and the 4x100 relay team finished fifth in 49.33.

Both schools will compete at the Three Rivers League Relays
