Clarification

Dr. Selina Gierer, an allergist and immunologist at the University of Kansas Medical Center, was not the immunologist who diagnosed Debra Griffin with Common Variable Immune Deficiency. A story in the April 6 Tribune may have implied that Gierer diagnosed Griffin after watching an episode of "House," a Fox TV drama.
