Quilt kick-off

Quilter and native Fort Scottian Bernita Hill presents a talk on "Women and their Civil War Quilts" to kick off the "Voices from the Quilts" symposium on Thursday evening at the Old Congregational Church. About 75 people attended. Hill's work and those of other talented local quilters will be on exhibit through Sunday. There will also be other related presentations, mainly at Fort Scott National Historic Site.(Ruth Campbell/Tribune)
