CHARLES R. BELL

Charles R. Bell, 93, Pleasanton, Kan., died Friday, March 16, 2012. He was born on Nov. 8, 1918, at Pleasanton, the son of Ed and Alice Shadley Bell.

He was an Army Veteran of WW II. He married Pauline Hoyt on Aug. 10, 1946, at Fort Scott, Kan. Together, they ran a dairy operation and raised other livestock.

She preceded him in death on June 9, 2006. Also preceding him in death were four brothers: Ernest "Pat," Ned and Jim Bell and Devon Shaffer, and three sisters: Thelma Haas, Elsie Bastek and Rebecca Speakes.

He is survived by several nieces, nephews, and brother and sister in laws.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2012, at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Pleasanton Chapel. Burial will be in the Oak Lawn Cemetery, LaCygne, Kan. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until service time at the chapel.
