Florida minister to speak at Margrave Street Church of Christ

A Tampa, Fla., minister who has written a well-known Sunday school study guide will be the guest speaker during Margrave Church of Christ's annual spring lecture series April 8-13.

Church elders John Durling and Jim Gerteis announced Monday that Ken Weliever (pronounced Well-aver) will preach on the universality of the local church and other topics.

After Sunday school at 9 a.m. and worship at 10 a.m. April 8, the church will host a free community-wide luncheon at Buck Run Community Center.

"Ken is very personable and an excellent orator," Gerteis said.

"He will present the Gospel in a simple, direct way and encourage people to live the way Christ would have them live."

Weliever will also preach at 2 p.m. April 8 and at 7 p.m. each night through April 13.

Author of "The Family Bible Study Series," the 6-foot, 6-inch minister is a native of Indianapolis and graduate of Florida College who has studied at the University of South Florida and Wright State University.

He has written a book titled "Transitions: Trusting God through the Twenty-Somethings."

Weliever and his wife Norma have two grown children.

Minister of North Boulevard Church of Christ in Tampa, he has also been a minister at churches in Hillsboro and Kettering, Ohio, Palmetto and St. Petersburg, Fla., Louisville, Ky., and Columbia, Tenn.
