Kansas City sweeps 'Hounds

KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- Fort Scott Community College's women dropped their sixth consecutive game when they fell to Kansas City Kansas here Saturday afternoon, 65-53.

The Greyhounds fell to 0-4 in Jayhawk Conference-Eastern Division play and 5-10 overall. Their last victory came on December 3 against Brown Mackie, which was then ranked No. 18 in NJCAA Division II, in a classic at Barton.

Jolee Sharp was the only 'Hound in double figures, scoring 23 points. Alexandria Blaurock led Kansas City (2-2, 11-5) with 15 points. Mikenna Greayhouse had 10 points and 13 rebounds for the Blue Devils while Brittany Clement also scored 10 points.

Burgandie Lewis led Fort Scott on the boards with 9. The Greyhounds outrebounded the Blue Devils, 43-38.

KCK men, ranked No. 13 in NJCAA Division I, beat Fort Scott, 93-54. No other details of the game were available. The Blue Devils improved to 2-2, 14-2 while the 'Hounds dropped to 1-3, 2-14.

The Greyhounds host Highland in a conference doubleheader Wednesday night at Arnold Arena. The women tip off at 5:30 p.m. with the men to follow at 7:30.
