David named 1st Team All-American

LINCOLN, Neb. -- Former Fort Scott Community College linebacker LaVonte David was named to the American Football Coaches All-American First Team Monday.
David, who played at FSCC in 2008 and 2009, is a senior linebacker at the University of Nebraska.
The 6' 1", 225-pound David has led Nebraska in tackles the past two seasons and become one of the top five tacklers in school history in just two seasons as a Cornhusker.
David has 274 career tackles. His 122 this season rank 10th in Nebraska history. He set the new school record when he made 152 tackles last season, when he was named a Second Team All-American by the Associated Press.
David's final game at Nebraska will be Jan. 2 against South Carolina in the Capital One Bowl.
