Two Iola women were injured in a one-vehicle rollover accident Monday morning on U.S. Highway 54.

According to a Kansas Highway Patrol report, a 1993 Pontiac Bonneville driven by Jennifer Bolden, 26, of Iola, was traveling eastbound on U.S. 54 about nine miles west of Fort Scott when it entered the north ditch, struck a fence post, rolled several times and came to a rest right-side up. Bolden was ejected from the vehicle.

Dawn Streeter, 35, of Iola, was also hurt in the accident, which took place shortly before 9:30 a.m. at U.S. 54 mile marker 365.4. Streeter was taken to Mercy Health Center.

Bolden was flown from the scene by helicopter to Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Mo.

The report said Streeter was wearing a safety restraint, but does not state whether Bolden was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.

Two children in the car, Camden Bolden, 2, and Andrew Streeter, 3, both of Iola, were wearing seatbelts and were not hurt, the report said.
