FSCC rodeo team does well

The Fort Scott Community College rodeo team traveled to Alva, Okla., the weekend of Nov. 4 to compete in the last college rodeo of the fall. The team had another successful showing with the men's team finishing in first place, a news release said.

Freshman Blaine Kaufman won the bareback riding average and the all-around.

Yance Day took second place in the bareback riding average. Cody Stephens and Travis Cramer made the short go in bareback riding.

Jade Blackwell made the short go in saddle bronc riding. Dustin Olmstead, David King, Dalton Cooper, Chelse Day and Jack Frey all made the short go in bull riding. Jacoby Hotsenpiller made the short go in goat tying.

The FSCC rodeo team has now finished with the fall season. The men's team is atop the Central Plains Region Standings with 1,840 points. The women's team is currently in ninth place with a point total of 220.
