JACK WILLIAM LAWRENCE

Jack William Lawrence, 55, a resident of Fort Scott, Kan., died early Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Kansas City, Mo.

He was born in Fort Scott, Kan., on March 19, 1956, the son of William and Barbara Koch Lawrence.

He graduated from Fort Scott High School and Fort Scott Community College. He married Brenda Louise Chastain. He worked for Extrusions in Fort Scott.

Jack served his country in the United States Army for four years. He then served in the National Guard for over 20 years before retiring. He was a member of Mirza Shrine, Rising Sun Lodge No. 8 and the Scottish Rite.

Survivors include his wife Brenda of the home, two sons, Gary Lawrence, Keith Lawrence and wife Cindy; one sister, Yvonne Jones and husband Bill, Smiley, Texas; his father Bill Lawrence, Fort Scott; as well as five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Koch Stevenson; mother-in-law Betty Chastain; and father-in-law John Chastain.

Danny Davis will conduct funeral services at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, in the Cheney Witt Chapel. Burial will follow in the U.S. National Cemetery, Fort Scott.

Military honors will be provided by the Olson Frary Burkhart Post No. 1165 V.F.W.
