VERGIL L. GIBSON

Gibson, Vergil L., 87, retired Cessna sheet metal worker, passed away Monday, Oct. 24, 2011, in Andover, Kan. A service for Vergil will be at 9:30 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 27, at Downing & Lahey Mortuary East.

Vergil was a B17 tail gunner during WWII.

Vergil was preceded in death by his wife Eva Lucille Gibson; sisters, Helen Cecil Nulph, Nila Nadine Wilson and Marjorie Alice Wiggans; brothers Corwin K. Gibson and Lawrence E. Gibson.

Survivors include many nieces and nephews.

A memorial has been established with the American Heart Association, 3816 Paysphere Circle, Chicago, Ill., 60674.
