FS Juniors is a new volleyball club that is starting this year in the Fort Scott area. The club offers opportunities to get training and playing time year-round. The program will qualified coaches that will assist players in getting the best training possible, plus the opportunity to begin the recruiting process.

Tryouts will be held at Buck Run Community Center, 735 Scott Ave. Players age 14 and under are invited to try out between 3 and 5 p.m. on November 6. Players ages 15 to 18 are asked to try out between 3 and 5 p.m. on November 13.

The club anticipates that enough players can be found to field at least four teams -- 12, 14, 16, and 18 years old. If possible, the club also hopes to have teams for 15- and 17-year-olds.

Any fees the club assesses will cover the cost of apparel, membership fee, tournament fees, practice facilities, equipment and so forth. The club has stated that the goal is not to make money. The club hopes to provide the best training program possible, for as little as possible. The final cost will be determined after the final number of participants is selected.

Practices will be twice a week, working around the girls' schedules, including basketball. Those organizing the club understand the commitment to high school sports and is willing to work around other sports schedules.
