Power outage

Bob Vernon, lineman troubleshooter for Westar Energy in Bourbon County, trims some limbs from a tree in the 1200 block of East Pine at Caldwell. Some tree limbs made contact with power lines at about 5:20 p.m. Wednesday. The approximate impacted area was Broadway to Goodlander and Charles to Foundry Road, Westar Spokeswoman Gina Penzig said. The outage affected about 1,300 Westar customers. Power was restored about 5:50 p.m., Penzig said. (Ruth Campbell/Tribune)
