JOHNNY (J.J.) SCOTT

Johnny (J.J.) Scott, 47, passed away at 2:23 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011, at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin, Mo.

J.J. was born Sept. 15, 1964, in Baxter Springs, Kan. His parents were Johnny Lee and Juanita Mae (Canady) Scott.

He was raised in Galena, Kan., before moving to Columbus, Kan., as a young teenager. He graduated from Columbus High School in 1983.

He worked in custom printing pepartments at area office supply stores. He greatly enjoyed dirt bike racing.

Surviving is one daughter, Malorie Scott Howard, Joplin; his father, Johnny Lee (and Leila) Scott, Galena; his mother, Juanita (and Marion) Phillips, Fort Scott, Kan.; one brother, Mark Lee Scott, Galena; and one sister, Kara (and Scott) Wheeler, Joplin; five nieces and one nephew.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 12, at Derfelt Funeral Home, Galena, Kan.

Pastor Audie Tash will officiate.

Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Galena, Kan.
