Jamie Rebecca Hallacy, 28, Walnut, Kan., died Tuesday afternoon, June 14, 2011, in an automobile accident which occurred west of Girard.

She was born Dec. 12, 1982, in Girard, daughter of Jim and Claudia Ausemus.

Jamie was raised in Hepler and attended school in Girard, graduating from Girard High School in 2001. She then attended Butler Community College at El Dorado, Kan.

Prior to college, she worked in the middle school as an office aide. While in high school she worked part time in medical records at the Girard Medical Center.

Following college, Jamie was employed by Craw-Kan Telephone Cooperative and was currently working there.

On Oct. 28, 2008, Jamie and Ronald Hallacy were married at Eureka Springs, Ark. They settled north of Brazilton.

Jamie enjoyed their home and country life. She also enjoyed cooking, reading and especially spending time with her family, friends and her dog, Cooter.

Survivors include her husband, Ronald Hallacy, of the home; daughter Kylie Jean Hallacy of the home; parents Jim and Claudia Ausemus of Hepler; maternal grandmother Cleta Jean Baker of Hepler; paternal grandfather Chet Ausemus fo Hepler; many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and Craw Kan co-workers.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather Claude Baker, her paternal grandmother Ilene Ausemus and a cousin, Tracy Ann Krouse.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 23, at the St. Michael's Hall with Pastor Rick Prideaux and Reverend Pauline Clugston officiating.

Burial will be in the Hepler Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home. Friends may call after 9 a.m. Wednesday.
